How to prioritize test cases?

Post by pyang »

Hi there,

Is it possible to prioritize test cases in TestLink 1.7?

For example, if I'd like to prioritize test cases from P1 through P4, with P1 being the most important. The purpose here is to have sort of test case filtering by priority.

Thanks,

Paul

I'd suggest using the custom fields to accomplish this.

The current solution of priorities is insufficient and need a general update. Using custom fields is a way.

I'm hoping this is still slated for 1.8 per the "Roadmap". Thanks for a great tool!

Help with this configuration?

Post by angelawallace0 »

Ok... I give. Can some kind sole please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I created a custom field as follows:

Name priority
Label priority
Type list
Possible values 1|2|3
Display on
test specification Yes
Enable on
test specification Yes
Display on
test execution Yes
Enable on
test execution No
Available for Test Case

Assigned the custom field.
I do not see my new custom field under either specifications or execute.

Change "Enable on test execution" to Yes (config otherwise same)
I can see on execute and I can change the value on this page (not what I wanted) and I still can't see the new field under specifications.

Did I do something wrong?

My earlier message was a big DUH. I hadn't bothered to updated my existing test case specifications.
