Test Case Id lost in TL1.8 after TL1.7.4 Migration

Hello,

After installing TL1.8, and TL 1.7.4 migration, I noticed that the Test Case Ids are no more displayed.

Instead, there is an Id which comes from the migration, and which is now linked to test project.

Question:
- Why removing the unique Id, which was very usefull to identify test cases simply ?
- Is it possible to display the old test case Id

Because tons of users has been complaining for a while do to :
not sequential ID

No.

Anyway once you get used to new ID, problem will dissaper (at least IMHO)
because you will talk about test case YU-67 instead of test case 1288.

Thanks for the answer.

It s a pity if the unique Id cannot be used. Thıs Id was quite usefull since every test case was identified unıquely like this... And sımply whatever the user and its culture...

And after the migration this id still remains ın the DB, so why not dısplaying ıt ?

If I understand well :
- Even for production system using TC id in 1.7.4, the display will not be possible in TL 1.8
- Test Case identificatıon is only made with a string and Id of the project

Anyway I understand your option... I ll dig more in TL 1.8 and migratıon when ıt will be completely available [from 1.7.4 to 1.8]

I can help you to develop an option to display one (EXTERNAL) or other(INTERNAL) if you want.

It would be fine to have this information (TC Id) by configuration for instance.

It will be included in the TL 1.8 release ?

Hello again...

I check a little bit 1.8, but Test Case Id is still displayed. When I create some new test cases, I notice that now the Test Identification is:
1-1
1-2
1-3
etc...
So it seems that the second digit is exactely our Test Case Id ?

During the migration, why not using the TC Id from TL 1.4 ?
