Tracking Test Results for Multiple OS

Post by fjser »

Hi all - just started playing with the Test Link software. So far I love it, and appears to cover 90% of my test plan tracking requirements. There is one thing that I have not yet found a way to do however:

Basically, we run the same test cases/suites/scripts on multiple OS. So for example, on Win XP SP2, we run 100% of the test cases. on Win 2k, we would run 70% of those test cases, on SP1 XP 40%, etc. I also would like to be able to assign different OS to diff people for testing.

What is the best way to set up for multiple OS testing in this manner? The main catch is that I want a defect filed against any OS to show up on all OS when the tests are run. In our software, defects arent often OS dependent, so I want someone who runs a test case on 2K to see any defects found by someone else when running the same test case on XP.

Thanks!

The current versions (1.7 does't support such functionality yet). There is several request to add platforms to execution. So it probably will be implemented in near future.
