How to link to a specific test?

Post by kathy »

I noticed that the test description is loaded inside a frame with javascript. I'd like to have a URL that I could use to open a specific test case. Any ideas?

I work around to this I use is to use the email function in either test results or assigning test cases and then use the link to the test case sent in the email.... :D

I tried sending email when assigning, but I'm not getting any link in the email. All I get is this:

Test Project: [...]
Test Plan: [...]

Following Test Cases has been assigned to you [...] by [...]

[project name]/[subproject name]/[test case name]

Am I missing something?

I think I found what I was looking for! I'm using this:
[mywebsite]/testlink/lib/testcases/archiveData.php?edit=testcase&id=[testid]
I hope there will be something better in the future release.

The first thing you must be able to modify the latter page to mark paragraph 5 with a special HTML tag.You will be using "raw" HTML code here, so you must have some idea of how to enter HTML code into your editor. If you are using Dreamweaver, you may find the tutorial How to Link Directly to a Line or Section on a Web Page with Dreamweaver more relevant.
