I'm not sure if asking for a help here is a right thing to do. Please apologize and forward me if it's not.
The issue is that I can't find the way to update a test case version without wiping the previous progress.
When there is a new version of a test case is available and I want to replace the outdated one I'm trying to do it through Add\Remove Test Cases to\from Test Plan. Then I chose a test case with a newer version available. The dropdown is disabled. The only way to replace an older version with a newer one is to remove the case and add it again, selecting a newer version again. In that case the execution history will be lost. Is there another way to update test case version? How can I save my execution history if no?
Test Link version: TestLink 1.9 (Prague)

Re: Execution history dissapears on a test case version upda
I believe what you are looking for is on the main menu.
In the "Test Plan contents" box, click "Update Linked Test Case Versions".
From here you can select the test cases that have a newer version, and then the update the Test Plan.
Now does your execution history will be saved, and the Test Plan will have the updated Test Case.
Does this work for you?
