I was wondering if anyone could post how they currently implement/ or use custom fields with their Test Suite/Cases/Plan etc.
I'm just started using the custom fields. Only thing that has come to mind is for a Browser/OS version lists which I link to each test suite.
how does everyone use custom fields?

I also have one for "automated". The other one I have in place is a drop down list of CVS branches - it's possible in our dev environment to have several releases to QA for a single release and it is useful for us to know which branch a fix was tested on.
The suggestion of OS and DB is a good one. I may set it up to have an "Environment" list to choose from (or to set on test case creation) that specifies what OS, distributed/local, connectivity etc. We only have a few different high-level environment setups, and some test cases require a specific one so this could be good info to have.
