1.9.4 ??

Post by gunter »

Hello Testlink team,

Would it might be possible to give us a release date for the next version (1.9.4 ) ??
Not for a day or a week, but a month and a year would be ok.

And the most interested feature is the performance update.

If it were possible to give here an estimate it would be really great.
Thank you folks for your work.

Best regards
Gunter

What new functions will be in 1.9.4?

Post by Jakub123 »

What will be the new functions in 1.9.4 ?

Will be there a chance to edit (rename, delete, arrange) default fields for Test Cases?
Will be there a chance to to add new columns between Step Actions and Expected results for Test Cases?
(Will be there a chance to add attachments directly to each test step?)

Thanks,

Jakub

1.9.4 is not intended to have new features, but is aimed to:

1. improve performance
2. fix issues present on 1.9.3

new features will be present on 2.0 and up

Remember that development team use only MANTIS site to manage feature requests.
Just a few quick answers that has to CLOSE this topic:

>> Will be there a chance to edit (rename, delete, arrange) default fields for Test Cases?
No.

>> Will be there a chance to to add new columns between Step Actions and Expected results for Test Cases?
unfortunatelly is this requests if not clear => if you need a new feature open a FEATURE REQUEST with very detailed information (what you normally do on your regular work when you need to provide requirements to a contractor).

>> (Will be there a chance to add attachments directly to each test step?)
No

fman,

thanks for info (although no good news...). I submitted feature requests (http://mantis.testlink.org/view.php?id=5099 and http://mantis.testlink.org/view.php?id=5100 and http://mantis.testlink.org/view.php?id=5102) in Mantis.

Btw. shall I ask/confirm in this forum at first or can I submit feature requests in Mantis immediately?

Thanks,

Jakub

You can submit feature requests directly to mantis.
Requests are analized and dev team choose to accept, or reject

fman,

ok. One more question:

Regarding issue http://mantis.testlink.org/view.php?id=5099 you said I can configure it via smarty templates. According manual (section 5.7.7.) there are configurable only

•$g_tpl['tcView']
•$g_tpl['tcSearchView']
•$g_tpl['tcEdit']
•$g_tpl['tcNew']
•$g_tpl['execSetResults']

So does it mean that if I need to update for example tcStepEdit.tpl, inc_steps.tpl it won't be possible? (And what about tcView_viewer.tpl, tcEdit_New_viewer.tpl ?)

Thanks,

Jakub

Hi,
Do you have a more definite release date for 1.9.4 now?
I need to plan an upgrade from our current TL version (v1.9 beta 5) to v1.9.4.
Thanks
