Hi,
I am trying to find a good test management tool for my workplace. TestLinkl has been recommended to me but, while reading the Installation and config manual I noticed the following sentence.
"There are some issues with IE 7 because microsoft doesn't satisfy standards."
My workplace uses IE 7.0 so this concerns me. I don't want to go down the path of implementing a tool which will not work properly.
Can anyone define "some issues" for me.
Is version 1.8 going to work with IE 7.0?
Is there anyone out there using version 1.7 and IE 7.0? If so, how well does it work? What challenges are there?
Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated.
My workplace has never had testing before, though they have been running a popular web-site for a long time. They finally realised that they need to have a dedicated tester after many years of pain. They have no test processes, limited test scripts etc so I really need something to help me get things in order. I can't afford to be hamstrung by a tool which isn't able to work due to technical issues outside of my control
Thanks in advance
Simon
TestLink and IE 7.0
My experience
I found Test Report Chart (flash animation) can not display correctly. The flash image is not in the center, so some part can not be shown.
We suggest to use IE6 because we can test it with the client. So we official state a support. This doesn't mean that it will not work with IE7. Using IE7 doesn't cause a harm to the tool.
You can use it without downgrade if it works and report problems (better with a solution).
The same situation is around Opera. The only client that has problem with some pages, is Safari (as much as I know).

What about Firefox?
Unfortunately using IE6 is not possible.
IE7 has been rolled out to the whole organisation.
I do have firefox (version 2) on my PC. Has anyone had any problems using it with that?
Tks
