Linking requirements to test cases.

Post by Richards »

I have installed Testlink and am in the process of trying out all of the features. However I have got stuck on the requirements. I have created a set of test cases. I was only able to enter requirements when logged in as Admin, which surprised me but worked okay. However when I try to link the requirements I get the response:

You can't do the assignment due to one of these causes:

* There are no Requirement Specification document defined
* The Requirement Specifications document is empty

I have tried this both as Admin and as Leader (however as leader I did not have the button to look at the requirement specification).

If anyone can point out what I am doing wrong I would be most grateful. I am running version 1.7.4.

I'm new to Testlink myself. I do use the german version of Testlink, so I don't know how the fields are called in your version. I do not had such problems. However I was a little confused. First I had to create a "Requirement Specification" and than one or more "Requirements" for each single "Requirement Specification". Have you forgoten the second step? Click on one "Requirement Specification" to enter "Requirements".

Check 'Edit Test Project' page if your current project has SRS enabled. It's disabled by default.

Thanks for the replies. I had indeed not realised that the requirement entry has two levels - it now works fine!
