Basic understanding

Post by c_andy_man »

Hello,

I did not already go all the way throug the documentation but so far i have a view problems when creating a test project.

The software to test consists of 3 programs with different version-numbers.

I want to create a Project, where all of theese three components are included. Most of the time it has to be testet together, sometimes apart.

The test cases belong to one or more of these software components.

Is the build-management based on one Testplan and/or Project ?
newer Versions of the components have new Features that have to be testet only in this Version - or higher.

Can this be realised with the build-management?

Are there good tutorials for testlink? The documentation does not have much examples.

one alternative

create 3 top level test suites , one for each program
inside these suites create your test cases.
then create as much test plan as you need with test cases choosen from different test suites.
