Apache and MySQL need to run even if windows user logged off

Post by Udhay »

Hi

Test Link is very useful for Test Management and integration with Bugzilla works very well to give a complete package.
Glad to have started using the tool. Thanks.

I have a concern to bring to the notice of this forum from where I can get a solution.

Currently, I have my Test Link and Bugzilla installed in Windows server and working fine.
I am using the Apache and MySQL provided in the xampp package "apache_start.bat", "mysql_start.bat". This server where Test Link is installed needs to be logged off unless there is a need to stay in, so that others can use it.

When I log off from the server, the apache & mysql initiated is shut down causing the Test Link not to function.
So to ensure functioning of Test Link I need to be logged in to the server.

I would like to know a solution where in, apache & mysql will continue to run even if the user who initiated it logs off from the server.

I tried the option of Scheduled Tasks, but it provides options to run tasks daily, weekly, monthly, when logged in, etc.
There is no option like when logged off.

Please Advise.
Thanks

this is a sysadmin issue not a TL one.
apache & mysql has to be installed as services
best source of info => XAMPP site

With xAMPP, there is a small orange icon in the system tray. [with what appears to be the outline of a white 'X']

Open that up, and check the boxes to have those servers run as services.
