Test Cases - Display previous build's notes

Post by Joe23 »

I could not tell if this feature had been suggested before. I tried checking the live demo, but didn't see it.

Suggestion:

Add the ability to display previous build comments in the active test case.

We often put notes in the "Notes / Description" field for failed tests. When the next build (Build2) is created and you return to the same test case, the notes from Build1 are not visible. We often end up having two browsers going; one with Build1 and one with Build2. This way, we can see our past notes.

I would like to see a section below the "Notes / Description" box with expandable sections per build. Similar to the +/- trees in the test case frame. One per build IF notes were entered in that build. When you expand the build, it displays all the notes from that build for that exact test case.

Our biggest issue right now is the lack of ability to see previous notes with ease.

Does this sound like something that could be done? If so, is there anything I would need to do to make the request official?

Thanks in advance!

I would love to but I'm not a coder. I can tinker with someone else's html a bit but I am by no means qualified to do anything that requires html skill.. If someone comes up with a proposed fix/update, I can test it though :)

How stable is the 1.7? I could upgrade my work's copy we are using for all our testing if it's not going to blow up on me.. We use it on a daily basis.

If it's not the most stable thing in the world, I can mirror our current one then upgrade it on a different server and play with it.

Either way, I'll do as much testing as I can.

More stable than Titanic. :) .
You can have two installation: 1.6 and 1.7 .

1.7 is in beta 2, and I think is pretty stable, may some features are missed

If we are in Beta 2, can we get that milestone added to Mantis? I only see 1.7 Alpha as a choice for 1.7.

Thanks :)
