We have a test management tool - guess which one :)
We plan to conduct scheduled test runs before each release.

the setup of testlink depends on the assigned test cases. we defined multiple platforms which specify which browser and/or db to use.
I do not think it is necessary to have cvs installed. we will provide you with an export of the code to be tested - like this it is possible to start fixing found bugs while testing - if necessary.

We would like to schedule tests for weekends.

Everyone, who is interested in helping us should write me a short forum message containing:
- short information about the person
- why do you like to help
- contact details: E-Mail, ICQ, Skype, ...

I am willing to help as far as executing test cases.

Regarding who I am, I am a QA manager who has deployed several instances of TL in different organizations. TL is a great test case management system and in order to keep it that way, we need to test it ... hence my motivation.

You can contact me at laurent.brack on gmail

P.S.: It would be really useful to have VM (e.g. Virtual Box) setup for testing.

How many people do you need? (since it seems there is already a test plan). If needed, I could always arrange for more people to join.

OK. Well we have a team of 27 testers in China, US and Canada which are all using testlink. I was thinking that as a way to help your team ... we could all contribute a little. If they reply to this post, would this be sufficient? Or would you prefer if I gather a list?

a list would be great.
Important for Account Creation is:
- Realname (Nickname only if really necessary)
- E-Mail Address

a lot of people sounds good but please be so kind to only name those who are really interested and are willing to spend some time.

For sure I will only submit people who are interested and committed to dedicate their time, me being one of them.

I remember seeing a while back that there was a TestLink task force out of Japan but I never see any concrete coming out of it (but I might be wrong).

I have a few questions:

Does the team has a test plan? and by test plan, I mean a document which describe how the test setup will be deployed, execution will happen, reporting, resources and the like?
Is there a test specification for test link? From some comments I have seen, it appears that this is the case.

Like anyone else on this forum, we all have a very good QA background. I have used TL for many years and I think the time as come for me to give back to the community :)
I also think that we should think about test automation. TL being a web application, there are plenty of tools out there to help automation (Selenium being one of them). I came by a posting date of 2007 talking about Selenium but I have not seen any follow up.

I think that the same way there is a dedicated team of developers, we should start creating an organized team of testers. This is a starting point. And I am willing to help anyone who is currently in charge. I have never participated in an open source project so I am not sure where to start ... so please educate me.

I think we should have a centralized test server (I believe you have some resources hosted somewhere) where the builds can be deployed, log accessible by anyone, etc. (this might work out better than VM).

Finally, I am a decent tech writer. If needed I can help in that area. There is obviously doxygen (which support php) but this is more for internal code (If needed I can help if you are interested). I was thinking about something like DocBook (for more formal documentation), or maybe a Wiki.

Anyway, the point is, if I can help, please let me know. point me to the people I should be in contact with.

Finally I have a few other ideas in mind, but let starts with the beginning. Looking forward to help make this great tool rock solid.

I am experience test analyst. Proprietary tools are often buggy ( cheaper ones ), I want to improve quality of Test Link to newer height and make it major player in test tools.

Hi,

I also would like to join Test Link QA team.
This solution currently helps me to manage 4 test teams over 3 different sites.
Really appreciated.
